II-I (II-I) investigates the relationship between voice, body and writing in the act of attempting to speak. The performance shows an attempt to bring the word forth through murmurs, vocables and gestures that test the various sonorities of the mouth and tongue, as well as the symbols and strokes that precede writing. The piece evokes an attempt at language, a primary articulation of body and voice that is not yet word.
